Week 4 - Cambridge Material Selector1

  Problem 1.5

Report Writing Printing Data and Charts to WORD

Prepare the ingredients of a report on the Exercise 1.2: Bicycle forks (or of one of the Projects). You can prepare a report in one of two ways.

The simplest is to print each of windows in turn, using the Print command in the ‘File" menu of CMS.

You can then add hand-written or typed text and annotations.

The alternative is to produce a report in WORD by porting the results, charts, and data into WORD, where you can edit them. It produces a much more professional document. Proceed as follows

(a) Use the Copy command in the "Edit’ menu to copy the contents of the Results window to a clipboard.

(b) Open a new WORD file and Paste it in. Give the WORD file a name (your initials .DOC, perhaps) and save it using the Save as command in the "File" menu of WORD.

(c) Do the same with the Data file for one candidate material, Pasting it into the same document.

(d) Do the same with Chart 1 of Exercise 1.2 (the chart of se against r), using the Monocopy command in the ‘Edit" menu.

(e) Save the whole lot. You can now edit the text files, change the size of the chart, add further text in WORD and use the contents of the file to develop a full report on what you have done.

(f) Print out the contents of the WORD file using the Print command in the "File" menu of WORD.
Also, attach the file and email it to me as part of  the homework solution for this problem.
